Nicola Harvey - Your Makeup Artist Director

With a passion and artistic talent towards makeup artistry Nicola completed her qualification in 2000 and was awarded her Diploma in the Art of Makeup Application and Design with excellence.

Nicola has been working professionally in the industry since graduating and over the years has worked for internationally recognized cosmetic brands such as L’Oreal, Lancome, Napoleon and M.A.C.

Often on set, backstage and behind the scenes she has worked closely with New Zealand fashion designers, celebrities, and musicians, including working with the Kanye West tour for U2, Auckland, New Zealand.

Nicola has worked backstage on a number of New Zealand Music Awards, along with personal makeup design for Bic & Boh Runga, Atlas and Elemenop. She has been involved with publicity shots, album covers, music videos and photo shoots for Anabelle Fay and Anika Moa.

She has had a number of published editorials over the years in Fashion Quarterly, Remix, Pulp, & Metro Magazine.

Her work has been viewed on the catwalks at both New Zealand and Australian Fashion Week in Sydney, working alongside highly regarded successful NZ fashion designers such as Juliet Hogan and Trelise Cooper.

Film and television has found her also, working on productions such as Sticky TV, C4 Music and TV 3 premiere series of The Jaquie Brown Diaries. Nicola has also assisted on set for the NZ documentary McLAREN directed by Roger Donaldson, and headed the Hair and Makeup department for award-winning NZ short film RIPPLE, directed by the talented up and coming NZ director Mazza White.

Over the past few years Nicola had directed her makeup skills and experience towards tutoring for The Makeup School, regarded as the most prestigious Makeup Training Academy New Zealand has to offer. 

Nicola is currently 2IC for the Hair, Makeup and Wardrobe Department for Sky Television Network NZ, and is part of the L'Oreal Paris NZ Creative Makeup Team.

With over 18 years of industry experience Nicola is also currently enjoying working as a professional freelance makeup artist and hair stylist for private clients, photoshoots, film shoots, fashion shows and events.
